2. Now You Need to Select Your Tier

Like a bespoke suit handmade to your unique tastes and dimensions, Garden on the Wall® gardens are custom designed for each project Clients’ needs are always prioritized. Client brand stories, colors, philosophies, inclusivity messages, goals, design styles, and more can be incorporated into our designs in countless ways.

All our designs are created over Flat Moss canvas, beautified with tiered foliage, accents of colorful flower foliage and moss varieties that imaginatively showcase texture, density, and color vibrancy. The choice of plants generally does not affect the budget, except when colorful flower foliage is used extensively rather than just as color accents.

3. It’s time to Create your Mood Boards based on Tier selection

Browse our Design Brochures to view the design details, plant palettes and layouts from our vast experience, and finalize your mood boards to bring your and thus your client’s vision to life through the expertise of our design team.

4. Want to customize further with plant palettes? (Optional)

While all preserved plants have varying color fastness over the course of their life span, fern species comparatively are more sensitive to direct UV or sunlight exposure.

Avoid Gardens with Lichen Moss to be displayed in low humidity (<30%).

Forest and Eucalyptus Species are most resistant to wear & tear and are therefore recommended for high traffic or public displays where physical meddling is expected.

You can explore our online Plant Library flipbook to view vertical application visuals for each plant, including a 10” x 10” frame image that gives a sense of scale. For the color scheme, you may choose between green hues or green hues with color by incorporating preserved flower foliage like H. Diosmi Berries or Hydrangeas.

Please note, we do not use any artificially colored plant species or preserved plants/mosses that do not meet our longevity standards of 20+ years.

Care Instructions

Some pointers on how to keep our gardens looking best

PLANT SELECTION
1

Plant Selection

• While all preserved plants have varying color fastness over the course of their life span, fern species comparatively are more sensitive to direct UV or sunlight exposure.

• Avoid Gardens with Lichen Moss to be displayed in low humidity (<30%).

• Forest and Eucalyptus Species are most resistant to wear & tear and
are therefore recommended for high traffic or public displays where physical meddling is expected.

DISPLAY CONDITIONS
2

Display Conditions

• For use indoors in climate controlled spaces only.

• Display in climate controlled spaces with normal room temperature settings (60-80° F).

• As with other materials (wood, leather, fabric) UV light causes color degradation. Therefore direct or indirect sun exposure requires UV Controlled Windows or UV Controlled Window Films eliminating at least 99% of harmful UV light.

** AVOID **

• Displaying in high humidity (>70%).

• Displaying close to heat emitting lights (min. 48”).

• Displaying close to air registers and returns to protect from accelerated wear & tear.

• Displaying in active construction sites as dust voids our 7-year warranty.

• Air can dusting, as it is too aggressive for preserved plants.

• Spraying and washing with water and all liquids. Contact with liquids can cause premature color degradation or wilting.

CARE
3

Care

* Garden on the Wall® is a no maintenance indoor garden system that is created with all-natural preserved plants. As they are not faux plants, they will not attract or accumulate dust!

* For display areas that are high in dust, a low speed, hand-held leaf blower is recommended for dusting every 12 months or as needed. Ensure to keep the nozzle 2 - 3 feet away from the installation as strong airflow may cause damage to the preserved plants and foliage.

* A low suction vacuum cleaner can be used for removing dust from the surface of moss species. A feather duster is recommended for occasional dusting of foliage.

* As the preserved plants and foliage are natural and non toxic, they can be targeted by insects. Therefore, fumigation of the display area is advised if insects are detected.

* 5-year Warranty will be voided if care & display instructions are not followed.

How About LIGHTING?

• The LED light fixtures should be mounted a minimum of 24” away from the garden surface.

• Avoid using high lumen output fixtures with narrow beam angle lenses, spot lights, or LEDs modified with TIR optics, in close proximity to the garden surface that would create hot spots and “scalloping” on garden surface. These may increase the intensity of the emitted light from the LED source onto the garden surface causing premature color degradation unevenly.

• LED fixtures with wide angle optics, or LED Wall washers with spoon diffusers, where the beam angle is adjusted to wash the full garden surface are recommended for illumination.

• While light enhances artwork, it also causes color degradation. 24/7/365 exposure will likely cause premature fading. The lighting fixtures illuminating our gardens should be turned off whenever possible or set to a time clock. Dimming is recommended.

• Color temperature above 3500K is recommended for best vivid and visual rendering as warmer color temperatures below 3500K tend to highlight yellow/brown hues of the preserved moss and foliage.

• Avoid using Chip-on-Board (COB) LEDs embedded into the garden wall to avoid heat exposure on the garden surface. Encapsulated flexible LED products with lower lumen and wattages are recommended.

Open Letter to Design Professionals

THE CREATIVE BRIEF

Today the design mission for shared spaces transcends materials and color palettes.

An open and modern office space featuring a sleek wooden staircase with glass railings, a living plant wall adorned with colorful flowers, stylish seating areas, and large windows providing a view of the skyline, with several people walking and sitting in the environment.

As interior design’s importance expands beyond aesthetics, designers are challenged to achieve meaning, depth, relevance, awareness, impact, and social and environmental responsibility without falling for greenwashing.

Designers are inspired to go beyond what’s come before, to imagine what hasn’t been done, and to outdo what’s currently trending.

Yet as modern structures and the interior design world evolve, we know that the best designs are mindful rather than merely attention grabbing Instagram stages. They must address the needs and wants of the client’s clients.

We are compelled to ask the client who their audience is, what message they want to convey, and what story they want to tell. Inclusive interior design accommodates the end user, be it occupants of a residential building, guests in a hospitality space, employees in a workplace, healthcare personnel or the greater global community.

Neurologically, psychologically, aesthetically, and meaningfully… Garden on the Wall® is dedicated to impacting people’s lives positively through our preserved garden, moss wall & preserved planter insert installations.
